The SSDI II Environmental indicator addresses the need for digital weight indication in corrosive or wet environments. It can be used as a desktop unit or be wall mounted for use in harsh environments. The chassis is manufactured of the highest quality stainless steel, and brush finished for years of durability and good looks. Because it is an intelligent device intended for operator interface the unit is designed for ease of data entry. Four versatile function keys are provided with changeable legends to accommodate practically any weighing application. Two vacuum fluorescent displays are used for scale data indication and operator prompting. Simplicity of operation and calibration was considered a must by the designers of this state-of-the-art instrument. Two serial I/O ports, TTL I/O and approximately 1000 battery backed memories are standard. Features:The SSDI II has been designed with your custom applications in mind. Practically any software that has been written for IDS products can easily be modified for use in this digital weight indicator. The general purpose weighing program features single or two step weighing. Units of weight are selectable for lb, kg, ton, TNE, grams, oz. or undefined. A user configurable software structure enables user definitions of labels, headers, tares, etc. Summary reporting of totals available as well as detailed transaction reporting. These reports may be printed by a printer or transmitted to a host computer. To prevent unauthorized access or data tampering password protection is user selectable. The page printer feature enables the user to format tickets from the keyboard. Diagnostic software provide service assistance by testing memory, I/O ports, A/D, etc. and printing configuration reports. Calibration parameters are entered and locked from the keyboard . Communications:Two bi-directional serial communication ports and one Centronics output port are available. Baud rate is selectable from 300 to 9600. The Centronics port may be used to interface with printers or may be used to provide nine TTL output lines and eight TTL input lines. These can be used for traffic light control or setpoints. The serial ports are used for bar code reader or card reader inputs. Use outputs for dot matrix impact or thermal printers, computers and scoreboards. Hardware/Memory:The 28 position keyboard includes a 12 key numeric keypad, 4 programmable function keys, 8 fixed functions keys and 4 control keys. There are 2 vacuum fluorescent displays. One with 8 characters 0.5" (12.5mm) for weight display and a 16 character 0.2" (5.0mm) used for scale status and operator prompting. A time and date clock that can be set up for AM/PM or 24 hour time is standard. Slow/ fast adjustments are done from the keyboard if ever necessary. A NI CAD battery and charging circuit protect the transaction number, time, date and totals from being lost for up to 2 weeks. All other information such as header label, etc., is stored in EAROM so it will never be lost even if the battery fails. Memory is program dependent but the user can count on approximately 1000 ID locations with stored tares if required.
